The ACCORD Hospice store is scheduled to open this Saturday (13th July) but the recently painted goods entrance and front entrance wall were vandalised at around 4am on Monday morning. With a lot of time and the charity’s money being spent on the project over the last few months, this careless vandalism couldn’t have come at a worse time for the new store.

Alastair Crae, Director of Finance and Governance at ACCORD, said: “We are extremely disappointed that our new store has been spoiled a few days ahead of its opening. We are working closely with the police and we are very hopeful that they can identify the individual involved from our CCTV footage, but we would also appeal to any local residents who might have seen anything to get in touch with the police on 101.

“Our shops are a real lifeline for the Hospice and we are still very excited about our new store opening. We have a fantastic team of shops’ staff and volunteers at ACCORD and we won’t let this incident stand in the way of our proposed launch on Saturday.”

The new ACCORD Hospice store is located at 37 Glasgow Road and will open at 10am on Saturday 13th July – please come down to support the Hospice.
