The calendar is a perfect example of the benefits of meaningful activity within ACCORD. Since September the service users have worked hard on producing some amazing paintings and photographs. Some have never painted before so unleashing this talent is a huge confidence boost to them, not to mention the sense of accomplishment and pride when their painting is selected for print.

Discovering their creative streak is enriching and empowering, it requires concentration yet offers a positive distraction from their symptoms aiming to improve overall well-being.

All our service users are included in the selection process of the final 12 prints and “after the lines are all closed and the votes have all been counted” so we all sit together and name the paintings appropriately.

Words, titles and phrases fly across the room until one just hits the spot, for example, April is truly “Bloomin Lovely”

We are super proud of our Calendar 2017 and thank you to all involved in the making of it.

Calendars are available to buy at the Hospice reception between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday.
